Information on the disposal of used batteriesThe following notice is intended for those who use batteries or products with built-in batteries and no longer resell them in the form in which they were delivered (end users):
1. Free return of used batteriesBatteries must not be disposed of with household waste. You are legally obliged to return used batteries to ensure proper disposal. You can dispose of them at a municipal collection point or at a local retailer. As a battery distributor, we are also obligated to take back used batteries. However, our obligation to take back used batteries is limited to the type of used batteries that we carry or have carried as new batteries in our product range. You can therefore return used batteries of the aforementioned type to us with sufficient postage.
2. Meaning of the battery symbolsBatteries are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out garbage can (see below). This symbol indicates that batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. For batteries containing more than 0.0005 percent mercury by mass, more than 0.002 percent cadmium by mass, or more than 0.004 percent lead by mass, the chemical name of the respective pollutant is located below the garbage can symbol – where "Cd" stands for cadmium, "Pb" for lead, and "Hg" for mercury.
